Spring break: pt1

Spring break part 1: Moroeki boulders and Christ church:

We drove to Christ church Thursday night, but to break up the 5-6 hour drive we stopped to take poops... and pooped out unusually rounded rocks now called moreoki boulders.

.....but pretty

Hostel in Christ Church. This bar tender was from Boston and when i told her I represent she seemed almost insulted. aka= she was a bitch. But the hostel was cool, no Nomads (queenstown hostel/nightclub), but pretty awesome to say the least.

Christ chruch was muy bonita. It contains like 750 garden areas (according to our british punting extraordinaire, Quentin) and is full of sweet bridge and what not. We basically just walked around all day and took pictures yet weirdly got mistaken for locals twice.

Botanical gardens of christ church. Later we would be riding in those boats and my sunglasses would meet their end in the river.

Chch was also full of art museums and random street art. We hit up a few museums (including the one photographed above).

interesting street structure next to museum.

This was a sweet little market with lots of free samples. The best part was menuka (sp?) honey which is apparently cheap in the south island and really expensive everywhere else. YUMYUM

Arts center quad.

Yay arte.

Ok so this pine cone was actually the largest pine cone ive ever seen. This picture doesnt really show it... poor camera angle choice on my part. But i promise it was MASSIVE... well for an pine cone.

Photoshoot in the flower garden of botanical gardens

It was sweet and made me feel like I was five so i was happy.

Alex, one of the proud owners of Ricardo posing in the flower garden

Sara in the flower garden.. another one of Ricardos mommas.

Ellen.. the 4th member of our spring break crew and main driver.

Dudeeeee, these ducks are called paradise ducks, thier head coloring represent their sex. They were arguing the entire time which therefore created loud noises and lots of flurrying. Birds in general from spring break freaked me out... ill elaborate later.

Artsy flower picture

My ladies

Us prior to punting.. Our puntsman was named Quentin and he was a strung out fashion designer from England who moved to Christ chruch to become a tourist attraction. He was fantastic. The enddd

One example of the ridiculously detailed street signs of nzed.
