Spring break post 3: Abel Tasman

Abel Tasman took up the majority of our trip... it was a hike along the ocean.

Day one of Abel Tasman. A really awesome tramp/hike we did during our break for four days. Weather was perfect minus one day where it rained a little, but overall couldnt have asked for a better time.

Mainly we got veiws of beaches since we did the coastal route.

Sweet forest we strolled through

One of the many swing bridges, I have encountered in NZ.

Dingy river... seemed more attractive in the thumb nail

The allusion of hut one in the distance....

Dinner cooking the first night.....burritosssss obvi!

Hutt 2 (awaroa) aka the best hut of the trip

We decided to be extra hardcore and cooked spaghetti on a cooking rock over the first we made ourselves... BADASS would ya say???

We went a bit loopy waiting for the estuary to go back in...

Crossing estuaries was my favorite part of the trip. The cold water actually became a staple to ease the itching of bugbites that surrounded our feet/ ankles. Although mid-way through the tramp my urge to cross an estuary caused a friend (ellen) and myself to climb an extra mountain.....Now we are getting more badass....

Kitchen table of hut 2.

love love love

Lunch feast

this is a shot from the extra mountain we climbed. pretty Sound of Music-esque.

Day 2: sunset tramp=WickAWESOME

Group shot after we finished!

Plus matt....

Salvation=water taxis

Which took us around the area to a baby seal colony...sweeet

Sweet rock structure that people actually get married under... but they need to beat the tide.

Then our water taxi got hauled out of the water by a water tractor.....only in New Zealand
